Concert by Cuban Singer Yaima Saez Praised in Canada

Toronto, Jul 20.- The great voice of Yaima Saez was extensively praised by the audiences and critics after the only concert by the Cuban singer at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts at The Distillery Disctrict.

Included in the Panamania Festival of Arts and Culture on the occasion of the XVII Pan American Games, the performance of Saez and her group earned them a comprehensive review on the Toronto Hispano web site, that described as special the repertoire of 18 famous songs of Cuban popular music.

The artist will share Monday the stage with the orchestra 'Pupy y los que son, son' to sing in English and French the song 'Un llamado a los Panamericanos', composed by Cesar Pedroso and that identifies the island's delegation in the games.

Born in the eastern city of Camagüey on September 23, 1979, Yaima Saez Bejarano has a degree in Physical Culture and started her musical career just nine years ago.

Owner of a powerful and velvety voice, Yaima is one of Cuba's few interpreters with a contralto register that falls among the successors of bolero, Filin, Song and son.(Prensa Latina)
