With her powerful, velvety voice, Yaima Saez is counted among a long line of female vocalists in the styles of bolero, filín, canción, son, and the most authentic popular Cuban music. Yaima’s music provides a fresh and unique contemporary perspective, descending all musical genres, while paying homage to her indigenous Cuban roots. She performs in Spanish, English, and Portuguese and able to switch from Bolero to Blues with ease. Some compare Yaima Saez to Elena Burke, Lena Horne, and Omara Portuondo for her sober style and remarkable interpretive strength; however, she effortlessly crosses genres, showing her love for the classics while continuing to touch hearts from around the globe and shine like a jewel of our times.

Celebrated Canadian soprano saxophonist, Jane Bunnett, will also hit the stage with six talented female musicians and singers from Cuba, known as Maqueque (meaning: the spirit of a young girl, in ancient Afro-Cuban dialect). This group entrances listeners with a clave-induced set of Afro-Cuban, booty-shaking world jazz that would have made Dizzy smile (Christopher Loudon, Jazz Times).
